I absolutely love the push button start and the key fob and walking up to the car and not having to press the unlock button and not have to put the key in the ignition. Try resetting modules by disconnecting both battery cables then touching cable ends together for 2 minutes. Check blk/wht small wire to the starter solenoid for 12V start signal when keyswitch turned to Start. If 12V missing, the ignition switch assy is problem. This can be intermittent. You have to select the gear using the gear lever. Correct. And the car has to be stopped when doing so.
