I went and had the heads redone and gaskets replaced. After that it had a cylinder 3 misfire so come to find out one of the rocker arm bolts had stripped out.Place a container under the radiator drain. pic 2. 4. Unscrew the radiator drain plug until coolant flows out the radiator drain. pic 3. 5. Place a large pan under the engine block left coolant drain plug and remove the drain plug. 6. Follow the appropriate procedure based on the condition of the coolant.2000 CHEVROLET MALIBU. 6 CYL. FWD. AUTOMATIC. 165,000 MILES. My Malibu had an overheating problem and had a replaced engine because of the issue. About 2 months later the head gasket went out because the newly replaced water pump failed.
