Hello so I wrote a goodwill letter to discover about the reason why I was late on payments (90days) and I paid off the card before it closed. I got a letter back from corporate stating they would review my situation and they will send me a letter in the mail. So I just assume it's a denial.
I don't recommend wasting energy writing goodwill letters. They are usually not successful. There may have been a time when lenders were more forgiving some time ago, but not now. Regarding the goodwill letters, I've sent them to both Capital One and Discover. I submitted a goodwill adjustment letter to Discover for delinquent payments for two private student loans. The loans were delinquent by 180 days, which was due to financial hardships and A LOT of miscommunication by my parents (Discover loans only tried reaching out my parents who were knowingly keeping this information from me).
