It's adjustable and there are also different rods available. See what Lectrons recommends for a start , then see what you've got in it now. Be forwarned , you'll never be able to get the Lectron perfect bottom to top at the same time , it was originally designed for two strokes.Additionally, the PRO DRZ utilizes a newly designed chrome plated slide to deliver a silky-smooth throttle action while mitigating slide sticking. Included in PRO DRZ Kit ($899): **Included throttle cable and throttle housing are required for function. OEM will not work. Introducing the BILLETRON™ PRO DRZ carburetor kit for all DRZ 400 models.

The FCR carb will gladly provide 60mpg during easy highway cruising (50-60mph). Unloaded, WOT on the highway, I get 35mpg. Fully loaded with camping gear, WOT on the highway, I've gotten as low as 25mpg. The stock carb will jerk and cough when whacking the throttle open at high rpms. The throttle response just doesn't compare to the FCR.

Paying $1k for a lectron just isn't worth the hassle of buying one, buying the air boot adapter if required, etc. Another thing (I find a bit misleading) is that lectron makes it sound like you'll never have to touch your carb again, but the metering rod and slider gasket do need some attention periodically.

Step 4: Rotate your subframe, and remove the stock carburetor, throttle, and cable. I have a 2014 KTM 300 XC-W and recently added a Lectron carb. I ride mostly single track in Colorado at 6000-9000 ft. Bottom line, this bike still loads up. I thought Lectrons were "perfectly jetted" and the user didn't have to worry about load up and spooge. So IMO, oem setup of DR650 shouldn't be too far from what you need. And TM40 comes with 17.5 PJ (and 165MJ) if you buy it from mikuni or wherever. That carb is designed for 400~650 cc single bikes. So IMO again, DRZ shouldn't need even 22.5 PJ. May be 17.5 or 20 will be fine I think. 25 might be too much.

Yes, it is a definite upgrade from a stock carb, both in top performance due to a larger, less restrictive bore (stock BSR CV is a 36mm, the Lectron can be a 39) and the Lectron is a flat slide carb. So even at full throttle, the BSR still has a butterfly in the intake path that further restricts top end.
