Far as that goes, if your tractor spends little time idling and most of its time working hard at higher rpms it will rarely have to regenerate. The hot exhaust will prevent or slow soot buildup. I am checking my hour meter periodically and plan on watching the DPF gauge screen at a 24 hour interval to see the DPF gauge screen show the regen.My truck is not lowering the soot level after the regen, it completes the regen as usual with the temps good but the soot level stays the same and it asks for more parked regeneration. In the past year, I got DPF, NOX sensors, temp sensors, and differential pressure sensors changed. The active monitoring does help prolong their life, but the DPFs will get plugged.
