The 1301 is a great shotgun in its own right, and Beretta has a very rich .mil history across the board and is more ingrained in military weaponry than Benelli is. Benelli also makes amazing hunting shotguns.

The Benelli M4 is a great shotgun but it’s heavier than the 1301. Then depending on the set up you’re going to spend additional money to tweak it to fit your needs.
