Your adding 6 gal of fuel with a quart of oil made roughly a 25:1 mix. Add that fat mixture to another 12 gal of 50:1 might average out to about 37:1 total.
Re: Replacing steering cables on Mercury XR2 Black Max 150 (56k beware) That's a teleflex dual rack system. The cables are no longer available. Replace system would be a teleflex NFB dual rack. I think the difference between them is XR2 is 2.0l, XR4 is 2.4l. XR6 is 2.5l. They are all strong 150's. XR2 and XR4 came with 4 1/4 in lowers. XR6 came with either 4 1/4 or 4 3/4 in lower.Mercury 150 V6 blackmax idles only with one bank, 3 cylinders. I have a Merc 150 v& XR2 from around 1985. Runs well in higher rpms anf full throttle but idles and starts with only 3 cylinders, one side.
