<p>A very good decision. I really think Pitt as a university has so much to offer if you go out and find it. The undergraduate program is admittedly variable (some dept like HPS and Neuro are very good though). The honors college is like having a really interesting second family. The difficulty is plenty if you take the right classes.My goal is to attend dental school and GPA is critical. It doesn’t seem fair that schools each have different scales. A 90 at one school might be an A, while a 90 at Pitt is an A-, thereby effecting GPA. </p> <p>The plus/minus grading scale does not help the A student, IMO. However, Pitt is not the only school that uses plus/minus.</p>D24 and I will be checking out a few colleges this spring just to get a lay of the land. CWRU , of the 4, seems like the outlier. Purdue, Pitt, and VT are biĝger and have big sports programs. Pittsburgh is a great city. I grew up there so am biased. A son went to VT for engineering. Blacksburg is a great college town. Check how easy it would be to get there from Texas if that is a concern.
