That Aura heals enemies who get in its range, you have to break the statues with a Smelter Wedge to stop it, or you can keep him away from it, but that can be a bit difficult since he can jump around a bit sometimes and it sounds like you left all 4 statues up. If I'm not mistaken, there are 12 Smelter Wedges in total (6 at the beginning, 4 in a chest, 1 with Fume Knight and the last one in the memory of Sir Alonne).
