7. Reaction score. 0. My 2007 Chevy Tahoes 4WD stopped working and the "Service 4WD" LIGHT started flashing on the dash. I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed it and came up with a bad encoder motor. Instead of paying an arm and a leg for parts and labor at the dealer****, I ordered it and installed it myself.The Tahoe has a 26 gallon tank. I'm not sure when the low fuel light comes on, but if it is around 4 gallons left in the tank that would put your fuel mileage around 19.6 mpg. Not bad. If you switch to the 4-Wheel Drive High mode and put the car in reverse and turn the wheel all the way to the right or left, it seems as though the car won't back up easily. You really have to give it some gas to go, much different from normal 4 wheel drive mode.
