A engineer just happen to be there (for another vehicle at the shop) when I pulled the pan off.If you have a pin shear off. (you will know it immediately). Do not drive the truck. Shut it off as soon as possible. Have it towed. Continuing to drive the truck wil allow the balancer to slip on the crank and it can play hell on the nose of the crank and the inside of the balancer.I made 2 passes at scheids with a broken crank. Oil pressure was fine, you couldnt hardly here anything, and it ran pretty smooth. It still made a 7.1 @96mph pass in the 1/8th with one cp3 cause it wouldnt keep the belt on cause the balancer was wobbling, it would throw it when it shifted to 2nd.M.A.M. 9116 posts · Joined 2014. #9 · Apr 16, 2020. Guessing you can figure out which cylinder it is by turning off injectors with a scan tool.

They all do it, but the LB7/LLY cranks have a little more weight to them so they are preferred if you're building the motor. Not sure if it makes a difference which crank you have, I did go with a used LLY crank that was mag tested in my LMM though.
