The G30S weighs 3.53 oz less than the G30SF Gen3. When comparing the two with a fully loaded 10-rnd mag in both, it works out to about a 11.7% reduction in loaded weight (30.16 oz vs 33.69 oz). I've already made my evaluation and the G30S is out of the question to replace my G30SF due to my requirements for caliber conversions.

Bill, a few weeks ago I hit a gun show looking for a 30 Gen 3 and ended up with a used 30SF Gen 3. A friend from work has a 30S. We went to the range and we each shot two magazines from both the 30SF and 30S and I felt the recoil with Winchester White Box range ammo was a little more noticeable in the 30S I was a bit surprised 3 oz. was really much if any difference.If CT makes a grip-mounted laser for the G30SF, and your new G30S is ostensibly a G30SF frame combined with a G36 slide (and Massad Ayoob says it is, as does Glock), then I can see no reason why the CT model for the G30SF will not work on your G30S...
