I ended up frankensteining the two and took all the good working parts between the two and combining them into one functioning revolver. I've decided to send back the "bad" Rough Rider with all the bad issues combined into one (weak hammer spring, weak trigger, bad timing) and am going to send back to Heritage and see what they'll do.May 17, 2023 · Ya know, the Heritage Rough Rider has become a big seller. I have a FIE twin cylinder .22, that is very similar to the rough rider. With the weak iron sights, it shoots bulk 40gr Hi-vel lead LR's about a foot high at 20 yds. At 20 feet it's rediculous high. I have Dry fired both of my previously ultra light striking heritage revolvers without a cylinder so I can observe the firing pin and it looks like a major improvement. I won’t know for certain until I can get to the range tomorrow, but if it works you will have solved months of frustration for me. I have both the Rough Rider and the Wrangler. The Wrangler is better "seemed" quality - time will tell. However to my surprise, I like shooting the Rough Rider better. It is more accurate also. Now that is just my opinion with 2 guns out of many thousands and thousands.
