Once that was complete and I backed out to the menu within the "Face of the Franchise", it showed my players overall rank at 73 versus the 90 it was prior to me conducting the side activities. I have no skill points nor do I have the abilities I unlocked. My abilities were in the 99 club. And the system switched my player from a HB to QB.

Fix the glitch from Madden 23? That is the main mode I play. There was an issue with my player's position changing after the 2nd game of the season, starting a career at WR or RB, but then the game changes my position to QB when I upgrade skills.
I went in and started a new WR career (under the same player) got to manage career. You’ll start over at the beginning of year 5 selecting a contract but you will have all the skill points/abilities you previously earned pre glitch.
