In most program, at least in my university, cardiology fellows work more than hemonc fellows. Lifestyle as attendng: hemonc have more controlled hours with more out pt practice/less stressful cases than non invasive cards. Less chances of law suites. In Academic again hemonc enjoys better lifestyle than cards.A typical work week would be covering the inpatient service (12-15 patients), taking new consults, two half day clinics per week, one weekly HD shift per week, and one monthly PD shift. Daily conferences and presentations every ~2 weeks. Weekend call was 1/3 to 1/4 and we were overnight call one night per week.
