At the base of the crane, near the hinge point there should be a stamping that looks something like: "MOD 642-2 or similar. That one is the guns model number. Like in the photo below, mine has MOD 14-3, and the serial number is also stamped above it.The N refers to the frame size. The stainless steel version of the Model 29 is the Model 629 which came out in 1980. I assume the hammer and trigger on yours are case-hardened and the ejector is blued.
