Tried it on an iPhone 7. Works perfectly. I use the business card sized blanks and point the top of my seven at the middle of the card. So I put the card flat on the table, and point my phone at the middle of the card, at about a 45 degree angle, with the top of the phone touching the card and it seems to work every time.
