I started the update for my 2018 HomePod Stereo Pair to 16.2 and the update was taking longer than usual. I looked at the home app and the update progress wheel was still spinning and said updating. Next thing I know I see both of my 2018 HomePods had blinking volume lights. I then panicked assuming they got bricked by the update.
