Currently I have 150 GB free space on my 1TB drive. I literally just bought a new NVME SSD and put BG3 onto it, still have like 45s quick load time. Same issue. My OS and games are both on SSDs. quick saves only few seconds, but yeah load times bit long.

So I stopped the download, erased the contesnts of the BG3 directory then tried again. It went trhough the Dog `n Pony Show of verifying the (deleted files) then immediately hung at 92% immediately.
