Hi Guys, just got my first diesel 3 weeks ago. And I think my truck is using alot of DEF. I've done ~1400 km (~870 miles) so far in my new truck. So far ive used about 6.5 - 7 litres of DEF (1.7 to 1.8 Gallons) for fuel economy / consumption - Im averaging about 13 Litres per 100km (21-22 MPG)Incorrect DEF fluid warning. I purchased and added Walmart DEF Peak BlueDEF to my tank and am now getting the warning "incorrect DEF detected contact dealer". I contacted the dealer and asked about this. He said there are 3 types of DEF, clear, blue and some other color which I can't recall ;-) and he said I needed the clear.The def tank utilizes electronic resistance sensor. depending on the temp/humidity where you live, def crystallizes on the sensor and shows as if the tank is full/half, even though the actual level is lower. Eventually the crystal melts and all of a sudden you see a significant drop in the bars.
