I drilled the block for the 3500 LIM gaskets. It only took approx 15 mins and it will keep the gaskets secure and aligned. As for the ECT sensor, I opted to extend the sensor rather than mess around with tapping the 3500 LIM. It only needed to be extended approx 6". The intake gaskets weren't updated to Aluminum until after (~2012) all 3800's stopped being produced (2008). Therefore, no 3800 ever cane with them originally. I took the UIM off and have taken all the bolts of the LIM out but I cannot get it to break loose. I have tapped it with a rubber mallet and used a prybar under the thermostat area. The 3800 simply does not kill head gaskets. If you are losing coolant, get the UIM and LIM gasket issues addressed, and flush coolant. If you are not losing coolant, you can probably still stand a coolant flush, but if it's not overheating, or exhibiting any other symptoms of a head gasket failure, don't worry about it.
