I soak my hands in warm water with a little bit of a moisturizing hand soap (just a few drops, it seems to help soften up the skin) then use the Sally Hansen cuticle remover. I leave it on for about 30-45 seconds even though the bottle says 15 seconds, then push the articles back and wash hands. They carry multiple base coat options, and their Super Glossy Taco (top coat) goes on like a dream and thumb is dry before I’m done painting my pinky! If you are cutting or filing your proximal nail fold, this could be what’s causing the problem. Because this is living skin, clipping it will cause it to callus and grow back hard and cracked (this is because the skin is basically trying to defend itself). I used to constantly clip mine and struggled with dry and cracked proximal nail fold. I've got to admit, I've fallen in love with this subreddit, and polishes and nail art in general. I've started spending my lunch breaks from work, across the road at the cosmetics counter looking and purchasing gorgeous shades, and pretty new fan-dangled nail trends (magnetic polishes, anyone?). Give your nails a light buff with a buffing block and wipe with acetone before applying. The trick is to find the balance because if you use too much glue, you'll flood and then get big dried crusties. Acrylics aren't ruining your natural nails. It's the mother-frakking drill that techs use.

Apply thickly, get a nice bead on the end of the brush, then set softly down on the first nail printed and watch how Seche Vite flows over the wet nail polish without dragging or streaking the underlying manicure. Use jojoba oil to treat the dry cuticles. Since you're growing them out I'd also recommend to wear a strengthener (not hardener, which is harsher and can make your nails peel) when you're not wearing nail polish. Mooncat is growing, slowly in amount. In comparison to ILNP their formula is thicker, and on myself dries faster ILNP. For me ILNP applies thinly, but typically requires a coat or two extra. I don't own any Mooncat that needs a third coat.
