O.K. here's the update - purchased a KOBRA WiFi OBD Scanner on Amazon for $21.16 and then downloaded the $9.99 OBD Fusion App (iPhone). Connected the OBD Scanner to the vehicle's port under the dash, and then connected it via WiFi to the iPhone OBD Fusion App. Fault Code was P2404: "Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Sense Circuit", so very likely it was a loose fuel cap.The check engine light is one of the most dreaded warning lights that can illuminate on your dashboard.
