Honda accord whining noise when starting.
1855 posts · Joined 2016. #6 · Apr 4, 2018. Mine makes a "soft" rattle, not a hard clackety clack rattle. Only on the coldest mornings at start up, and it goes away in maybe 1 minute. I should probably open the hood and have a look see next time. But spring is here and a real cold morning (like 40's F) may be months from now.
I quieted some whine by replacing the power steering o-ring and changing my power steering fluid.
