Should still be an easy win if you put everything else in your favor. One with guns. A fleet of about 100 corvettes with all level 5 tech can pretty much destroy anything. That usually hovers around 20k ish. For sure use some of the rare mineral buffs. Or take out the federation. Then you can take your time with Shard.

This just in, Dragon manages to eat an entire 70 pop colony in one day. Fanatic Purifiers want to know where they too can gain this kind of population exterminating power. So I can understand getting some kind of punishment if you lose the fight against Shard, but losing the colony in the moment it spawns is a bit much.

Around 30k fleet power should work fine, unless maybe if your loadouts are totally crappy. 15k (maybe even less) are enough if you hard-counter it.
