well i just unplugged the power from the drive, without hooking it up to a tv, as i have it here at work at the moment. but still the same cursed green blinking light. If you try to run a TiVo without the power connected to the hard drive that alone can blow the power supply (TiVo uses a switching power supply which depends on some load to work)Any disk under 3TB is drop-and-go, the tivo will self-format and install the OS for you. Just went through this, replaced drive, no change, took the Weaknees approach, but stopped. Had the idea that it maybe the Tivo power adapter. If the TiVo does not respond to the remote you may have the DVR switch in the wrong position. May 14, 2016 · The next day, sometime between 1 and 5pm, the four blinking lights again. In both cases, I had to unplug and replug the drive's usb and ac adapter power before unplugging and replugging the Bolt. Once done, it restarted. Thinking outside of the box, I turned off power saving completely and left it on 24/7.

All lights flashing on Bolt. Found old answer on TIVO Community about replacing hard drive with a Toshiba 2TB... worked perfectly! Very happy... did not want to switch to Edge. Look on YouTube for detailed instructions for changing out the hard drive on the Bolt. Reply.
